REV’IT! grew from a small Dutch label into a player on the world stage in motorcycle apparel and gear. Its products combine comfort and style with protective technology that has to meet strict, certified safety requirements. The development process is anything but standard.

The challenge

The design and development process took a lot of time to coordinate. There were PDM packages for fashion and for technical design, but none supported the collaboration between designers, engineers and product managers within strict requirements for form and function.

The pricing and delivery model lived in separate, home-made Excel files. Recording designers’ feedback on photos, samples and new designs was error-prone, which slowed down every iteration.

The approach

During the development of the next collection, Solvos built the modules sprint by sprint in Mendix, always one step ahead of the design team. Each module was delivered and then tested and used in daily practice straight away.

That is how Clarity was developed, tested, debugged and connected in close collaboration, by a dedicated team of business engineers and an involved group of users.

The solution

Clarity is a product data management system built around the way REV’IT! works. The strict safety specifications of materials and products are part of the system. Designers record their changes easily and new products reach the market faster.

With Clarity, the very first mobile Mendix application in the world went into production. The project made the top 10 in the SME project category of the Computable Awards 2021.
